News Hub:

Summer came early to The Fell this year and then stayed around a while!!. Like all courses this year its been a challenge to maintain the grass with some hard work and investment going into of greens to keep them green. So a special mention to the Green team for their hard work and effort in keeping the course in good order. The golf at times has been a challenge but there have been some fantastic scores returned which speaks volumes of the standard of golf. A welcome respite in the hot dry weather should return the course to its glorious best. There is still plenty to play for and lots of fun to be had with The Club Championship, The already sold out, Robbie Williams Tribute night as well as the Lions Charity Day and the club open in September. So here's to the rest of the summer and the fun to come Up on The Fell .

The founder and originator of the club was A.B.Davy, the first Club Captain and President. Mr Davy arranged for a survey to be carried out and together with Dr. R.W.Mason, Mr O.H.Brown and Mr. J.N. Gedye planned the course as a testing alternative to the proposed flat course at Meathop Road, Grange Over Sands.
